A Probable Path to Truth!

A Course in Miracles is a philosophy course. It was introduced to me about 20 years ago by a client /teacher/friend. He's a private trader. His first trade was cocoa using an $8000 loan from his Mother. Charlie said after that experience, he would never trade stock again, didn't see the need. With innate heart and discipline developed over years, I'm sure Charlie's internal wealth extends far beyond his bankroll. The Course uses language from religion as a method of communicating the difference in consciousness between fear and love. Fear is related to ego and joy is related to spirit.

"Every response you make to everything you perceive is up to you, because your mind determines your perception of it." - Course in Miracles Text.168

Any decision of the mind will affect both behavior and experience. What you want you expect. This is not delusional. Your mind does make your future, and it will turn back to full creation (peace) at any minute if it accepts the "Atonement" first. Course In Miracles - Text pg. 79. "

Atonement" - when used within context of A Course in Miracles defines "willingness" to release fear. When a willingness to release fear enters, comfort is automatic. As a by - product of "willingness", energy is increased and decisions are strengthened.

"Whatever you accept into your mind has reality for you. It is your acceptance of it that makes it real. If you enthrone the ego in your mind, your allowing it to enter makes it your reality. This is because the mind is capable of creating reality or making illusions. I said before, that you must learn to think with God. This engenders joy, not fear or guilt, because it is natural." Course in Miracles - Text pg.77

"The function of truth is to collect information that is true. Any way you handle error results in nothing. The more complicated the results become, the harder it may be to recognize their nothingness. Have you ever thought about the distorting power of something you want, even if it is not real? There are many instances of how what you want distorts perception. No one can doubt the ego's skill in building up false cases. Nor can anyone doubt your willingness to listen until you choose not to accept anything except truth. - "Course in Miracles" Text pg. 145

"The relationship of anger to attack is obvious, but the relationship of anger to fear is not always so apparent. Anger always involves projection of separation, which must ultimately be accepted as one's own responsibility, rather than being blamed on others. Anger cannot occur unless you believe that you have been attacked, that your attack is justified in return, and that you are in no way responsible for the interaction.

What can be expected from insane premises except an insane conclusion?

The way to undo an insane conclusion is to consider the sanity of the premises on which it rests. Once you develop a thought system of any kind, you live by it and teach it. Your capacity for allegiance to a thought system may be misplaced, but it is still a form of faith and can be redirected". Course in Miracles - The Lessons of Love - Text pg. 84

"A wise teacher teaches through approach, not avoidance. He does not emphasize what you must avoid to escape from harm, but what you need to learn to have joy. Consider the fear and confusion a child would experience if he were told, "Do not do this because it will hurt you and make you unsafe; but if you do that instead, you will escape from harm and be safe and then you will not be afraid." It is surely better to use only three words: "Do only that!" This simple statement is perfectly clear, easily understood and very easily remembered." Course in Miracles- Text pg. 96

(The Journey Back - means release from fear into peace. Knowledge - means peace.) "The ego's voice is hallucination. You are not asked to dispel your hallucinations alone. You are merely asked to evaluate them in terms of results to you. If you do not want them on the basis of loss of peace, they will be removed from your mind for you. Every response to the ego is a call to war, and war does deprive you of peace. Yet in this war there is no opponent. This is the reinterpretation of reality you must make to secure peace and the only one you ever need to make. - - - - - the first change to be introduced is a change in direction. The total senselessness of the ego's curriculum must be fully recognized before a real change in direction becomes possible. You cannot learn simultaneously from two teachers who are in total disagreement about everything.

( Two teachers refers to the ego (fear) and spirit (peace), both voices come from within). Their joint curriculum presents an impossible learning task. They are teaching you entirely different things in entirely different ways, which might be possible except that both are teaching you about yourself. Your reality is unaffected by both, but if you listen to both, your mind will be split about what your reality is."Course in Miracles" - Text pg. 129

The Gift of Freedom - means freedom from fear. Healing means living with universal energy , which replaces fear of loss and separation with comfort, trust and love. "Healing reflects our joint will. Healing is the way in which the separation is overcome (separation is the voice of your ego which can only breed fear). Separation is overcome by union. It cannot be overcome by separating. The decision to unite must be unequivocal, or the mind itself is divided and not whole.

Your mind is the means by which you determine your own condition, because mind is the mechanism of decision. It is the power by which you separate or join, (fear or wisdom) and experience pain or joy accordingly. My decision (MY is Voice representing Universal Law, or God) cannot overcome yours, because yours is as powerful as mine. If it were not so the Sons of God (people) would be unequal. All things are possible through our joint decision, (aligning your life with natural physical laws) but mine alone (physical law) cannot help you.

Your will is as free as mine, and God himself would not go against it, I can offer my strength to make yours invincible, but I cannot oppose your decision without competing with it and thereby violating God's will for you.- "Course in Miracles" - Text PG 134/135
